I come from Minot, North Dakota, but I moved to Grand Forks three years ago. I started playing percussion in the fifth grade and later, piano in high school. Currently, I am a music education major at the University of North Dakota with percussion as my primary instrument. Some of my activities include concert band, drumline, steel pan band, and I currently volunteer with the Grand Cities Children’s Choir as a student coordinator.
One of my favorite things about being a teacher is watching students grow and finding their ‘lightbulb moments.’ I love the excitement and spontaneity of learning something new everyday!
When I am not teaching or making music, I spend my time drawing, playing board games, and hanging out with my cats, Skittles and Lily. I also eat lots of fruit snacks!
